Tamsin Yoga, founded by Tamsin in York in 2012.
She has been practising Yoga for 30 years and started teaching in 2004. Tamsin originally comes from a background of art & design, studying a degree in Metal & Ceramics (3d design and crafts) at Brighton University. The work she was doing at college involved lots of heavy lifting & bashing of metal. After a while, this started to take its toll on her body & doing a degree, particularly towards the end was stressful. An hour in a Yoga class helped to knit her body back together, & the added benefit of stress relief was just Fantastic. she really fell in love with Yoga around this time. Her desire to become a Yoga teacher was born from That.
After graduating from her art course in 2003, Tamsin combined her passion for yoga with her love of exploration. She travelled extensively in India for almost a year. She enjoyed seeking out a yoga class and exploring different disciplines whenever she arrived in a new place.

Over the years, she has developed her own style of Yoga, and each class she teaches feels a little bit different. She enjoys devising poses for people of all abilities. She can modify postures to adapt to individuals depending on their needs. Her classes Emphasize the connection between the Yogic asana, movement & breath. Always focusing on bringing deep relaxation to the body. The Release of tension & creating peace of mind, are forefront.
Tamsin graduated as a Hatha Yoga teacher from the Sivananda Vedanta School of Yoga in Kerala in India in 2004. After graduating, She stayed on at the ashram, first as an assistant and then as a fully fledged teacher of classical yoga. she would be taking classes of up to fifty students from all across the globe. While in Puna, India she delved deep into a Vipassana, Yoga for silent meditation 10-day retreat, which was life-changing.
She studied Pregnancy/Postnatal Yoga with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli in 2013 in London. Also taking some workshops in Womb Yoga with Uma, exploring the benefits of yoga throughout a woman’s life
She was Attuned to Raki Level 2 in the Carpathian mountains in Romania, gaining insight into an abundant source of healing energy, everyone can tap into for self-healing.
Additionally, in January 2017 Tamsin has completed a specialist training course in Hypno Yoga for Birth.
She will be bringing her newfound knowledge into her existing Pregnancy Yoga classes.
